The app

Lesserlight never asks for the microphone and never hears a sound. macOS tells it one thing: whether your dictation app (Wispr Flow, Handy or Superwhisper) has the microphone open. When it does, the edges of your screen glow.

The app has no account, no analytics and no network connection. It keeps a short log on your own Mac of when the glow turned on and off, so problems can be traced, and that log never leaves your Mac.

This website

lesserlight.app sets no cookies and runs no tracking or analytics. Like any website, its host, Cloudflare, sees the usual details of each visit, such as your IP address, to deliver the page.

Buying

Checkout is run by Stripe, through Link, which handles your payment details, receipts and sales tax. We never see your card. Stripe shares your email address with us so we can send you the download link, and we use it only for that and to answer you if you write to us.
